Ford should buy Tesla before BMW does

Ford has made a remarkable comeback. But as electric grows, Ford (already punished by the Prius) stands to lose a lot of ground. Here's something big it can do: acquire Tesla. Financially Tesla is a losing proposition: their revenues have been dropping for four straight quarters, debt is rising... but absorbed by Ford the cost synergies, in everything from manufacturing to sales and service, should be massive.

Tesla has made electric cool, and seem to be the only ones who can go the distance - literally.  They have hundreds of miles between charges, and this is what a truly electric future needs.  Their IP, brand and designs would be hugely valuable to someone with Ford's global distribution.

Why would Ford want to buy Tesla? Tesla will most likely bankrupt themselves because cash flow will never cover costs and debts. One screw up and they will be toast! Tesla's battery technology does not fit into safety guidelines of automotive Worldwide. Shame on their arrogance that they know better. Tesla rushed to start production before they were ready. Advanced orders will take a very long time to fill and at high costs to Tesla. Time will tell! They are on a bubble right now.
